Solar Installer

Position Overview

Solar Installer / Laborer at OE Solar

OE Solar is an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor operating out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. We offer a comprehensive spectrum of services for sustainable green construction projects including solar, wind, and energy efficiency, and handle everything from: capital acquisition, engineering, permitting, and procurement, to construction. By handling all aspects of our client energy projects, we create a simple, low-stress experience.

Under the direction of a Lead Installer, you will work on a team installing solar photovoltaic systems for residential and commercial clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installation of Residential and Small Commercial solar electric systems.
  • Construction according to plans, specifications, manufacturer’s requirements, and NEC of Roof and ground mounting structures, mounting and wiring solar modules
  • Installation of conduit, wire, and disconnects
  • Installation of inverters and connection to the utility grid.
  • Reliability and professionalism will be required on a daily basis.
  • On-site installation of solar PV system from design documents
  • Participates in training and meetings
  • Ensure Electrical systems meet company standards, the National Electrical Code, and other local codes.
  • Work with a high level of quality and integrity.
  • Ensuring adequate inventory for truck
  • Pre-assemble job components in the warehouse.
  • Layout and assembly of solar modules, array, and mounting hardware
  • Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
  • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
  • Is punctual to all meetings and job sites
  • Follow safe work practices
  • Clean-up of job site
  • Continuously develop skills.
  • Safely and legally operate personal vehicle and OE Solar vehicles

Qualifications

  • Comfortable using power tools and being on roofs
  • Must have your own hand tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the NEC Code and AC and DC electrical systems a plus
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Customer service skills

Compensation: $12 – $14 per hour

Residential Solar Sales Consultant

OE Solar located in Albuquerque, NM is a well-established electrical company with steady solar work for commercial and residential construction.

Position Overview

Residential Solar Sales Consultant

Our company is looking for a Residential Solar Sales Consultant. In this position, you will educate, qualify, and advise future customers on the benefits of installing solar PV power on their homes. You will be backed up with OE Solar’s 11+ years of solar design and construction experience that will allow you to tailor your offering to the best possible fit for your customers’ situation.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be the face of OE Solar and the first person our customers meet along their journey of purchasing a solar energy solution.
  • Sell leads and generate your own leads.
  • Work directly with homeowners to lower their monthly utility bill by going solar.
  • Drive production of opportunities to meet local sales team’s goals and objectives.
  • Develop qualified referrals and sales opportunities.
  • Generate own leads by directly contacting homeowners, initiate conversations and close homeowner contracts.
  • Meet with sales leadership for training and advisement weekly to fine-tune approach.
  • Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the Company in a positive manner.

  • Must have reliable transportation

Compensation: Salary/Commission: $70,000.00 to $145,000.00 per year.

Service Electrician

Service Electrician

EEJ98 Service Electrician – service truck provided

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting electrical systems including solar PV Array’s
  • Have a voltmeter and know how to use it.
  • Understand electrical theory and NEC Code
  • Can work independently or in a team
  • Install projects as contracted and designed.
  • Quality is a main driver for you 
  • Can review plans and see what would need to be changed to make it better
  • Creative in the way you get the electrical system temporarily working until parts come in.
  • Ensure all projects pass jurisdiction requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Project Management Team.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and professionalism will be required on a daily basis.
  • Create a positive work environment.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must have an active New Mexico EEJ98 Electrician license.
  • Own a current 2017 NEC Code Book.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot electrical wiring
  • Must own all electrical tools, power tools, and tool belt
  • Must be a motivated team player, looking to succeed.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical projects.
  • Solar experience a plus.
  • Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the project.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a motivated team player, looking to succeed.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must submit and pass a background check and drug test.

Foreman Electrician

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise a crew on the job site
  • Ensure proper job documentation is completed at the completion of each job
  • Interact with customers – be the expert they need
  • Be the eyes to identify any potential hazards
  • Read and review blueprints and plan documents
  • Install racking systems and modules
  • Run conduit and wiring on roofs
  • Apply weather seal, such as pipe flashings and sealants, to roof penetrations and structural devices
  • Test operation or functionality of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems – Fill out reports and submit to PM
  • Configure electrical wiring of the solar system (AC and DC)
  • Track Certified Hours for team members
  • Ensure Quality installation
  • Work hand in Hand with Construction Manager

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous foreman or supervisor experience managing a crew in PV installation, roofing, or general construction required
  • Strong attention to detail a must
  • Knowledge of the do’s and don’ts of complete solar install
  • Must have a valid NM driver’s license
